      PMC Bronze. Accurate, clean, cheap.

on this subject, what kind of .223 ammo pricing can I expect to find at the gun shows? I'd be looking for a minimum of 500 rds.

I am contemplating attending the OC show on the 30th but If I can order online and get it to my door cheaper than driving from Lancaster to OC and paying to park, get in the door, etc. I'd rather just stay home and order and have Brown bring it to me.

gun shows..., about 5.25 a box.

I will let you know. I searched and could not really find stuff on the forum so I thought I would start something.

I will do research and post stuff here as a reference for everyone.

Just got this. Read good review on it

            $139 for 500 rounds + 15 shipping.

PMC was going for 299 for case at the past gunshow.

              cool man.

would to find good ammo for cheap, obviously, and also maybe list ammo to stay away from too. listing grain too might help also. I know there are some issues with barrels or particular models that may only shoot certain grain maybe.... anyway. want to make this helpful to people.

Remington UMC is OK they carry at Wallyworld - the cheap Federal stuff is OK but will foul your rifle rather quickly.

Get into reloading. .223 is probably one of the 'easier' reloads (I may have opened a can of worms) - overall - components; primers, etc. are more abundant for that caliber and there is a ton of documentation to help you.

I even notice now the 'smell' of the powder others use; and more often than not have a rather smug reaction. I am proud I shoot reloads at the range.

i never considered this ever. I am open to that now, but I think it would be expensive to invest in all the stuff though.

Im going to pick up some of that .223. I am building an AR and am trying to get some good, cheap, and reliable ammo!I just bought 60rds or PMC from big 5 for $9 bucks a box. A bit high I think.

Im trying to get used to where the prices sit for .223.

Seems like a good deal even if they are once fired.

+1 on this. I get 3" groups at 100 yards out of a stock mini-14 with this ammo. I've seen it for $300 at the Cow Palace gun show a few weeks back in the Bay Area for 1000 rounds. Routinely in shops around town I can get it for $400 for 1000 rounds. Prices on the internet are somewhere in between.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.
