There's no right answer to your question.
No one can recommend to you a type of primer with any certainty. The best primer depends on your rifle, powder, bullet, ect. By that I don't just mean the brand; I mean your individual set-up, the conditions you'll be shooting in, and your standards of accuracy. Myself as well as others pick components through experimentation.
Get a reloading manual as well as fliers from powder manufacturers. Some powders perform better with magnum primers, some with standard. That information can usually be found from the manufacturers as well as other tips specific to their components.
One thing to keep in mind is since the AR is semi-auto you'll probably want a primer with a harder cup like winchester, remington, or CCI.

Federal match primers are very good. I have experimented for 1 1/2 years with many different cases, bullets, powder types, primers, powder charge, seating depth, etc...

I found out the best load, and I just load that way now for all rifles. I have good results.

For your 223 use Win 748 start at the minimum that Winchester states on their powder. Primers CCI, Fed, or Win are all good but each gun is different and you can get different groupings with each or same depending on your rifle.

Your 308 use your Varget powder but Win 748 is also good and has less pressure.

For your 9 mm, well I am still looking myself on a clean powder

I'm going to disagree with you about using Winchester SR primers in the AR.

I've used them exclusively with Ramshot TAC powder, at a light load (23.2 grains), and occasionally see a pierced primers, maybe once per every 20 rounds fired.

This jives with reports I've read online that many High Power shooters won't use Winchester primers either, for the same reason (piercing). I don't know if they tend to pierce because the metal is too soft, or the cups are too thin, or what...

I bought several K of Win SR primers a year ago and I'm going through them just to use them up. But when they're gone I will switch to another brand (Wolf or CCI).

              I believe you.
By now I pretty much only use CCI for my ARs.
I've only ever loaded winchesters when I was helping a friend load components he had bought. Only loaded a couple hundred, but I never noticed any problems so I figured they'd be safe to put in the list.

You know, some people probably never have a problem with them. It could just be a certain combination of factors that me and some others have run into. Might be a good idea not to buy 3K of them like I did, the first time out. Maybe start smaller and see how they do...

Hey, are you still R.O. at Laguna Seca? Don't think I've seen you the last couple of times out there... If you've moved on, good luck in whatever you do...

But if you're still local you should join/rejoin the club, come out to the matches, and give us some competition. You shot pretty good in that one IDPA match we had out there in bum-**** (Soledad), if I remember right...
