Anyone use the German surplus DAG .308?

Just as the title states has anyone shot the mid 90's run of the Dynamit Noble. I noticed they used a cupronickel mixture and was curious as to how similar it is to copper jacket bullets.

I read somewhere that it was 70% copper and 30% nickel.

From what I can tell the ammo isn't reloadable and I have seen some good prices online so I was wondering what are your guys experience with the round any pros cons or problems you have run into with the ammo.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

I got about 240 rounds left of this stuff. I bought 1000 rounds of it back in the early 90s and as far as I can tell, it works good. I ran it through an HK 91. The stuff I have has a heavily crimped in primer with a green sealant on the primer also. I cant tell if its 89 production on 68. Dont know what way to hold it for the correct date. Not raly the date your looking for. Its got the N.A.T.O cross and says DAG 7.62X51 The bullet looks to be copper but a magnet does stick to it.

after doing some digging around on some interwebsites alot of people have ccompaired it to Magtech which I already have shot in the past and liked it alot.

Im just curious to how it treats chromed lined or vanadium lined barrels. And are there any special cleaners that have to be used or are the copper bore solvents just as good?

As long as the steel core on the bullet is encased in copper it should not be a problem. Midway has a sale right now on some milsurp Greman 308 but the bullets are a light color. Its said that the jacket is Cupronickel what evet that is.... http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=945421

Bought 500 rounds from Military Gun Supply. Cases are nasty looking but goes bang every time and seems to be as accurate as I am.

I got 1000 rounds of it and it works great out of my SAR8(HK91 close) which makes me very happy as that gun is kinda picky when it comes to surplus.
I find ir to be quite accurate too, by battle rifle standards. I have no idea how it compares to modern commercial ammo as far as accuracy goes though.

It is berdan primed so no reloading, unfortunately.

I have found a couple of places offering 1000 round cases for 500.oo with or without shipping and some sites offering the same but the rounds are tarnished.

I think im going to grab a battle pack and if its as good as the magtech I will get a few cases

The only reason why I want something close to magtech is I can shoot right at an inch or less all day long with that brand and havent really found anything that my gun likes as much as far as non match grade ammo on the cheaper side of the price range as well.
