    7.62x54r=.311 Barnes???

    I need some lead free 7.62x54r for my M39. I know I cant get the naturalis lapua 7.62x54r any more. Is the only other route is to load my own with the Barnes .311 lead free?

      That or buy my .30-06 so the ammo is readily available on the shelf.

          kalguns, Your never going to know what the correct pill is going to be with a Mosin. I'd slug the bore to be on the safe side and it sure can't hurt accuracy when your hand loading. -g

              Yup, slug it before buying boolits for it. I have two mosin, one is .314 the other is .312. That's big enough for barn side accuracy using .311 boolits.

                      I guess I got lucky! My M39 and M44 both are .313! Acording to 7.62x54r.net .311 should work fine.
