OK, I left for work and realized that I had left my tumbler on oh well but my boss just called and said i needed to work a few hours of OT... so what is 13 hrs of tumbling going to do to my brass?

I have never heard of anyone tumble brass for longer than 2-3 hours, so 13 hours...ummm...I don't know but I would recommend wearing some sunglasses when you reload cause those things are going to be SHINNY lol

      3 weeks.
I used to tumble brass at my grandmas place on sunday and she would turn it off monday for me.
I forgot to ask her to turn it off and she did not call to ask about it for 3 weeks!

once left the tumbler with walnut shells and rouge running for a couple of days... the .45 brass was unusable...corn cob seems less abrasive...

I've forgotten about it running in the garage and tumbled brass for 16-18 hours before with no problems.

              The brass was fine.
The media was all worn out.
The thing that impressed me most was that the tumbler was still running.

This was a Dillon tumbler and it runs so much quieter that my grandma did not know it was running in my shop.
Before that, I had midway tumblers and she would hear them running when she walked by the shop.
That's how she remembered to go turn them off.

When I got the big dillon tumbler, she did not hear it until she opened the shop to get something off the wall...

At least replacing the media was cheaper than replacing the tumbler.

I use a timer (when it's not controlling the Christmas lights)
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I typically clean brass for 5 hrs using a timer to shut it off , when the timer stopped working the brass tumbled for a week . I wore sunglasses while loading it but have reloaded it many times since. No ill affects

I've gone as long as a whole weekend (I forgot about it) - normally though I tumble overnight - put brass in around 10:00 PM and turn off next morning. I love shiney brass.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

I've got a lot of dirty, stained brass that I've had to tumble for days to make it purdy. 3 weeks of tumbling won't hurt it at all.

I usually go a few hrs as i like it to shine and it's easier to see in the gravel at the range. Have left the tumbler on for a nite and day accidentally though and all was good.

Thats what I do just before I load it. I only tumble for a couple hours after I shoot it and over night after it is sized and annealed.

I bought a few cases of the stained guat. 556 a couple years ago and tumbled the live rounds for days at a time. No problems at all.

That's hilarious! I just did this last night as well! Nothing will be wrong with the brass. As the Rap-stars say on the VH1, Blinkie bling bling
