Old ammo is it worth anything?

I got this old ammo is it worth anything, or should I just shoot it?

I'd say it would be worth something to old ammo collectors. You might try rimfirecentral and see if those guys know anything about it's potential worth.

Do a search on Gunbroker.com There's a couple of boxes of the Kleanbore listed for sale, but it doesn't look like they're worth much more than new ammo.

With the boxes in that condition you should just shoot the ammo. None of those are very rare yet. One time we were shooting at Jackson Arms and the trash can inside the shooting area had about 20 of those Remington Kleanbore Police Service boxes (empty) in it. They were in mint condition. I guess some old timer just brought in his old stash to shoot up. My girlfriend grabbed one to keep on her desk.

I bet that you could put those up for trade and people with period guns that used those cartridges would gladly trade you 1.5 to 2 rounds of new ammo for each round of the old ammo, especially if the boxes are complete and not missing any rounds.

Yep, I'm pretty sure that all the cartridge collectors checked this thread and nobody wanted it.

Something else to know, this subforum is NOT the for sale/trade subforum.
If you were looking for buyers, post in the for sale/trade subforum.

                  This subforum is for dicussion.
The buyers don't come here much.

Perhaps if you spent a little more effort, you might be rewarded...

Shoot it. Ammo was made for a reason not to stare at it. For that fact so were guns and fishing rods. I have a old fishing rod Bamboo and I use it all the time. its what it was meant for. And yes its worth a lot of money but If i worried about money all the time I woudl be gray haired and chain smoking

I have a gun that is made specifically for shooting that kind of ammo, 148 gr wadcutter mid-range.

You might be able sell them to someone like myself that punches paper as that is all those rounds are good for. They are not made for much else as they do not have velocity greater than about 770 - 800 FPS.....paper punching power.

Some of them might be worth in the $20 - $25 neigborhood for a target shooter.

It looks old and dangerous. You should send it to me for proper disposal.

i would put them up for display in the house! a couple of those would be awesome in a shadowbox with an old curio revolver, and maybe some old jailer keys! but im not really into monetary collectibles, i just like stuff that looks cool.
