    Shotgun reloading..good experiance

Alright, so I been reloading for years but I finally started reloading shotgun a few days ago. Well, I heard that pushing the wad tight against the powder will effect the round, BUT that was after I loaded 20 rounds already!! The instruction didnt tell me about it..
Anyways, I went out today and tried my shots. The later shots were just fine as I lightly seated the wad. I made some reduced recoil Buck shot flying in at 1012 average fps. Its recoil is compareable to a .223? maybe a little more but its enough to the point where my wife is comfortable shooting my SD Shotgun. That was the whole purpose too, so she can shoot it.
Well, I got to the 20 rounds that I first loaded and those rounds made me laugh. Every shot went...poop....and the buckshots rolled out of my barrel. hahahah

Well, lesson learned; seat the wad light!

Anyone care to explain why though?

The wad pressure is needed when the powder is first ignited, it needs to build pressure. Having a bit more wad pressure seals the base of the wad (powder cup) to the inner walls to the hull thus increasing the pressure rapidly instead of slowly. Then you get a full powder burn and a higher velocity round going off. Instead of those granny fart poof's that you shot off!!

Just a hint, if you really want her to shoot the shotgun (often) get some Winchester or Federal low recoil 00 buck shot rounds or get a Knoxx stock for your shotgun. The Knoxx stock greatly reduces recoil even using full powered loads. I think there are youtube videos on it.
