    Loaded my first 10 rounds!

    Hi all -

Thanks for all the reloading help. I ended up making the following purchases for my setup:

Reloading Kit: $106 from Midway (Lee deluxe turret press kit)
Dies: Lee Delux 4-die set Midway $33
    Bullets: DandD bullets 1,000 .40 180gr ~ $75 w/ shipping
Brass: local gun store 100 .40SW winchester brass $30 (I know, I paid way too much)
Powder: local gun store Bullseye 1lb $22

Reading the ABC's of reloading and using the Speer reloading manual 8th edition.

It took me 15 minutes to make 10 rounds because I tripled checked everything from powder measure to seating. The one thing I did notice was the crimping was kind of a weird station. It would be hard inserting the round into the die and then smooth and then hard again as I exited. I'm assuming this is normal since the crimp is where the lip of the brass touches the bullet.
Help fix the For Sale section of Calguns.

Haven't reloaded .40S&W but check your crimp die. It should taper crimp and the round should go in and out easily. When I taper crimp my .30 M1 Carbine rounds the crimping is so subtle the taper crimp die doesn't seem like it does anything.
    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Just got the same set up recently and have not reloaded yet just to busy when the holidays end I will begin. i did though add a taper tie to my set as from what I have been reading .40 and .45 they say a taper crimp is best. Die was only 10 bucks.

I did play around today and see I have some adjustments on the seating die to make.
