Well it was range pick up brass, so all kinds of stuff gets mixed in.

No tv, with my vaccum running for the trimmer I couldnt hear the tv anyway.

The priming mix is dropped into the empty rimfire case as it is spinning, so there is usually no primer compound anywhere near the center of a rimfire cartridge. Besides, it needs the impact of being sandwiched between two sheets of brass ( Rim ) for ignition.

The only rimfire priming system that is done differently is the method used by Eley, theirs is lower viscocity when inserted into the rimfire case so no spinning of the brass is needed...it flows into the rim recess and dries. You can always tell who uses the Eley priming system ( Eley, Aguila, etc ) just by the smell too, its really distinctive.

In the picture you can see unfired rimfire case heads cut off, and see how the priming compound was spun into the rim area ( Except for the black Eley case head ) .

If it came down hard & fast enough, I'm sure it would ignite. My dad told me stories of his misguided youth -- how he used to go into his dad's garage and put .22lr rounds into the vise and HIT THEM WITH A HAMMER! WTF???

My main concern was that with Dillon's universal decapping die the decapping pin is unsupported by the neck, so it could become off center. Also well as, people saying a round just going off is not dangerous because the pressures arent directed but in this case I think the .223 case would have worked as a barrel but blown to pieces.
