    Lee Turret Press Skewed?

    Hi all -

I just got a new Lee Turret Press Kit from Midway. When mounting the press I noticed that the shaft appears to be skewed. Shouldn't the primer lever seat into that cavity in the press?

I've checked the videos and found no mention of the shaft being skewed. Should I just return it to Midway?

Hmm...that's the way mine looks too. Sadly, haven't pressed a single round yet as I'm still waiting for supplies.

I believe it's ok though. Check out some of the youtube videos, they look the same.

If that is the model I used to have, I seem to remember you had to loosen the uprights and put a case in the shell holder. THen raise the ram, putting the case into the sizing die, then tighten down the bolts.

According to the picture on their web site yours is correct.

I have an older version of that press that uses the same base casting. The groove in the ram faces forward on mine and the primer arm sits in that slot in the base. It looks like with the newest version they use the same base but changed the primer arm, so the ram is rotated clockwise to work with the new primer arm.
            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Yes you're right. Is the primer arm off-center to have room on the left side for something like the Lee Safety Primer?

I primed some rounds yesterday and it still seems to function correctly. The primer arm works and primers are seated perfectly into the round. It just looks odd that the primer arm misses the groove slot on the base.

MilsurpCollector is absolutely correct. I confirmed this according to the Lee Precision support person. Older base new primer arm. Works just fine.

Looks like you have it right from the pic, just set mine up a couple weeks ago and it seemed odd how the primer arm sat but it seated 100 primers with no prblems other then the lee safety primer system is a pain and icannot seem to get work while on press so it sits on bench and I have to pull the arm out and to get the saftey feeder to work right slows it down a bit but was happy with thee outcome.
