I've used one of those before. It works OK. Better with pistol brass than with rifle brass.Comment

I just sweep it up into a pile, bend over and pick it up and then ***** for the next 3 days about my sore back. Works for me.Various 1911s.
Some revolvers.
Some rifles.
Back to owning some of those "polymer" guns.
They see me rollin'

If bending over hurts your back, just bend your knees down real low (like a catcher in baseball) to pick it up.
It's funny how most people I see at the range pick up after every magazine because they know if they don't, people will assume they don't collect their brass and zoom by to collect
In some people's eyes its like people dropping nickles on the floor and not picking them up lol

If you look at the price of once fired brass in .45 ACP for example, each case is worth $0.07- more than a nickle! I am not inclined to be a brass poacher at the range so I have paid $70 per 1000 for once fired brass. It's funny how most people I see at the range pick up after every magazine because they know if they don't, people will assume they don't collect their brass and zoom by to collect In some people's eyes its like people dropping nickles on the floor and not picking them up lolComment

This is exactly what I was designing in my head as I was reading the first post...except the one I was thinking of making was made from wire coat hangers, window screen, and duct tape. Yeah, I've got a little redneck in me.
Here's a cool idea.Comment

What that me (if you're in the Bay Area)?

Mine's not effective for pistol. I need to create a basket type front, so basically another 12 gauge wire towards the front, and a longer tube for height. Even at the highest point, my .45 brass was going over it. But I think if I have it high enough, move a little closer to it and have a basket type front, it'll catch all my brass. Another guy has one setup just like that. I hardly see him picking up his brass.
It ain't pretty but effective for sure on rifle brass.Comment
