Economical bullets

Hi everyone,

I'm very new to reloading. I've read the ABC's of Reloading 8th edition and have everything but the bullets. The price range seems to vary here the most. I have a .40SW handgun and shoot factory 180gr ammo. I would like to match that ammo but not necessarily the copper tips but use the cheap lead bullets. Where can I find cheap lead bullets for range practice?

Quick comparison of 180gr 10mm lead bullets...

Berry's is $103 per 1000 with free shipping.
D&D is $156 shipped for 2000.

I don't know how much 40 cal is but, 185gr LSWC 45 was $30/500 and 125gr LTC 9mm was $27/500 from Bear Creek.

$60/1000 is a damn good deal on 45 bullets these days.
Just watch out for how much shipping and tax add.

when bear creek went over a nickel a piece i started casting my own

its like a got a little machine that makes nickles now

I buy Bear Creek from my local shop. They used to sell it for $24/500 for 45acp 230gr round noise. Now its up to $32/500. Still a good deal but not as low as it used to be.

used to only cost me $90 to make 1000 45acp rounds . Its more like 130 now.

I think he ships USPS flat rate box. No handling charge. I'm not sure because I pick mine up at his shop. I like the small boxes, they're easier to carry and store.

Gotta throw my props in for Missouri. Good prices for quality lead bullets. Plus they are shipped fast and cheap. Small family owned company too and that means something to me.

Next thing down the line for me will/would/could/may/might/okfornowimjustthinkingaboutit possibly be casting my own, but for the time being i'm going to concentrate on loading as is.

I've been using Missouri lately too. He ships fast, and uses USPS flat rate boxes, which keeps the shipping cost down. Plus if you belong to a shooting club, or the military too I think, he gives you a 5% discount. I had to send him a request for the 5% discount on club letterhead. Not sure how he verifies military service.
