Yeah, like sv 1 said, most pet stores like Petsmart or Petco etc should have something. I know they carry some walnut lizard bedding (and maybe even corncob) that a lot of people including myself use. There's the Angeles Reloading store right next to the ranges there, and they sell both, but I'm not sure if they're open today. Maybe Turner's in Reseda would have some laying around. I know FortCourageArmory in Simi Valley might as well, but I don't know if they're open today, and if you want to drive that far.

I get my 40 screen walnut from Harbor Freight (24 lb box) and the same size corn cob (50 lb box) from Granger Industrial Supply.

Walnut works out to about $.75 a pound and the corn cob to about $.50.

Yep, I agree with the pet store source. Just add some liquid wax and a little mineral spirits to the mix. Let it vibrate for about 4 minutes to get the clumps out and dump your brass in. I only use the walnut shells.

                Walnut from Harbor freight.

I picked up a big bag of corn cob (Hamster bedding) at Walmart yesterday for under $4

I've found the fine grade of walnut at pet stores but all of the corncob I find is too coarse. I've ended up buying from Midway and paying for shipping.
