    Media in the flash hole?

I've just started cleaning 45acp brass. After pulling the brass out of the tumbler, there's usually a grain of media in the flash hole. I've been whacking the brass on the table to try to dislodge the media. Sometimes, it just doesn't want to come out, even when I pick at it with a piece of safety wire. So, my question is, am I wasting my time? Will it come out when I deprime or could it cause a broken de-primer?
Also, it's dusty when it come out. Should I bother to wipe the case down?

    Thanks!

If you are using corn or walnut it will push right out when you decap.

Throw a used dryer sheet in with the tumbler to cut down the dust. Wipe down brass if you are OCD.

A bottle of that compressed air used to clean keyboards sounds like it might fix your problem.

Don't bother, the decapper will push it out. If the brass is dusty and your media is fairly new you need more polish.

I didn't add any polish....the media (probably walnut) came with the Lyman 1200 that I picked up yesterday. Is it necessary or nice to have?

I just placed the order for my Lock n Load and necessary parts! With luck nothing will be backordered.

Toss them in the tumbler straight from the range. Than deprime/size/load. Sounds like these where already deprimed/sized. You don't what to be sizing brass that is dirty, it will wear out/screw up your die!

Get a carbide sizing die so you don't need lube. I also use Dillon polish and haven't had any dust issues using corn cob.

I have that problem (media in flash hole) on occasion when loading rifle cartridges as I run the brass through the vibrator after sizing to clean off the lube. Compressed air is good for blowing out any debris left behind, as is a flash-hole deburring tool.
