Berry bulltet load data

Where can I find some got a deal on 40 cal 165gr plated round nose and cannot find load data was thinking of taking a minimum load out of the nosler book and trying it, what do you all think.

Maybe list the powder and type of gun you are using.

I've been told to keep the loads about the same as a cast bullet, no high velocity stuff as it strips the plating off. Find a comparable type bullet IE: LRN, 165g.

Using Bullseye for my xd40.

I purchased some of these today for 9mm 115g. I will be using Win 231, cci small pistol primer. The guy at Fowlers told me to use same load data as FMJ. I don't know what is correct. I don't trust gun store salesman.

Just found this on Berry's web page.
Plated bullets occupy a position between cast bullets and jacketed bullets. They are soft lead, but have a hard outer shell on them. When loading plated bullets we have found best results using low- to mid-range jacketed data in the load manual. You must use data for a bullet that has the same weight and profile as the one you are loading. Do not exceed mid-range loads. Do not use magnum loads.

Try 5.5 grs 231 . Very nice. Look at Montana gold 115 fmjs . This load is good for plates and paper

5.5 of 231 is high by my two manuals.
Hornady 7th ed shows 4.1 to 4.7 max
Speer shows 4.0 to 4.5

I the load data for speer but they have me wondering when they say use only wth there bullets, should I start a little less then there minimum charge or just go with there minimum. Also have load data that came with dies just not bransd specific when comes to bullets.

I shoot an xd 40 service model with berrys bullets and win 231 powder. I have used bullseye in the past. It seemed ok, but I like the 231 so far. Some of my books have much higher loads than others. I prefer my lyman book with the lower loads.

These loads work well for me:

40 caliber 135 RS copper coated
win 231 5.3 grains
1.125" COAL

40 caliber 155 FP
win 231 4.8 grains
1.125" COAL

40 caliber 165 FP copper coated
win 231 4.4 grains
1.130" COAL

40 caliber 180 FP
win 231 4.3 grains
1.125" COAL

I had a barsto 9mm conversion barrel fit to my gun and I have loaded up some berrys bullets, but have not tested the load yet.

9mm berrys 115 RNDS copper
win 231 3.8 grains
1.090" COAL
