    223 brass prep progressive setup

I have roughly 3500 223 cases that have already been sized and deprimed.

Does anyone in the bay area have a progressive setup that will trim lengh and uncrimp the primer pockets that I can sit at for a few hours? Send me a PM and perhaps we could work something out!

I want to buy a setup, but cash is tight and will have to wait till next summer.

I don't have a progressive setup that trims length and uncrimps but I do have a lyman universal powered trimmer and an RCBS Prep Center along with an RCBS swagger die mounted on a single stage press.

Probably take more than a few hours with that stuff but I'd be willing to help.

to trim and swage at the same time you would need to find someone with a Dillon 1050. I wish I were that luck to have one. If they already have been sized, then you may need to relube them to run them through a press set to trim. 3500 pieces is more than a few hours. I average less than 500 pieces per hour on my XL650.

Wish you were in Orange County. My XL650 is all set up to trim 223 cases and super swage is set up for 223 cases.

I was thinking of renting out my Dillon equipment by the hour to reloaders that want to reload with a progressive. Is anyone interested? They would heve to work on the reloading in my garage

          That's a nice offer, Offroader.
I had more than 2.5K worth of .223 to process. Thinking about it, I was happy to send it to http://custombrassprocessing.homestead.com/ They charge $30 per 1K to fully process as you describe. With shipping, it was about $85 and I got the brass back in a couple days.
If I had a fancy press setup, I'd do it myself, but...

I was just hoping to use a case feeder and a handle! I have seen some setups in action. I am gonna have to get something going. This much brass prep is time consuming.

Well I might be in the market soon for a Giraud trimmer for my 223 but the current wait time is around 4 - 6 week according to their site. I can check back when I get the thing in if you want to go that route.

Haven't looked into a press mounted swager setup yet. What have you seen?

i'd love it if dillon came out with some type of swage rod to replace their primer arm that way you could size and swage
then you could put the trimmer head in station 2

they need to be sized before they are trimmed

For the dillon, you dont need to size first. The trimming die also sizes. But it would be cool if you could swage at station 2 on a 550 or a 650.
