Glock 19 + lead bullets questions

1k plated bullets $85 9mm

So the wolf barrel is $100 and it would pay for itself after 3000 rounds. I only shoot about 300 rounds a month so it would take less than a year to break even.

Question: buy wolf barrel? Which is a drop in. Or spend $200 on a bar-sto barrel? But needs to be fitted. What does a gunsmith need to do to fit the barrel anyway?

Bar-sto would take two years to break even. Would there be that much of an accuracy difference in a ipsc or uspsa setting?

Either barrel shoot flat point just fine?
Stick to round nose?
124gr or 147gr for banging steel.

for ipsc, no, keep the OEM barrel, just find the "right" lead.

If you get good quality lead bullets, you can shoot lead in a OEM Glock barrel

Which would be the right lead? Do you have a link? I thought lead was a no-go because of the polyagonal (sp) barrel.

I did very well with Oregon Trail hard cast lead in my G-22
I was fanatic about cleaning after I shot so I'm sure that helped but thousands of lead bullets thru my OEM G-22 barrel with no accuracy loss or kabooms

i would go wolf barrel with lead rounds or stock barrel with moly coated lead.

i personally shoot uspsa with an open glock 17 9mm major and wolf barrel, gun runs perfect with no issues at all, 10k+ rounds with no issues.

my major practice ammo is 147 moly lead and for classifiers and/or big matches i go 124 JHP

Or you could cast your own bullets with free lead and really drive your cost down.

You can shoot lead out of a Glock. Def no recommended. When my Dad was in the academy he said they used to shoot lead out of the Glocks all the time. You just need to clean the barrel after every 100-150 rounds. Dont now clean it or go sign yourself up for some strongman shooting contest.
