air travel with ammo

Well I'm in dallas and found some great deals
On ammo. Can anyone tell me what the law is for air travel for ammo?

Go to the airlines that you are traveling and see what they have posted. There are weight limits, etc.
It isn't tough to ship it along with your luggage. I
t could be in a second bag and if you repack accordingly, you could get most of your stuff in a carry on and the ammo in the checked bag without going over a total bag weight limit. Oh - your bag will get searched.

Virgin America has a 8lb limit for ammo. Check your airline. Ship it to yourself ORM-D via UPS or Fedex.

Delta was 12 lbs including the locked container.
That was for an international flight but I believe its the same for domestic

If its a great deal load up and just ship it to yourself and don't hassle with the airlines

Thanks guys. American is a 11 lbs limit. Gonna ship it FedEx instead.
