    EOD3,

Thanks for this info - I will take your advice - and yes, starting loads only.

    Regards,

From my loadbooks, different bullet types called for different loads. Case in point, 240gr Lead SWC vs. 240gr JHP. The loads are different and so is velocity (Lead 800-900+fps vs. JHP 1100-1300+fps). I can only figure it has to do with effective bullet expansion.

I'm loading 240gr JHP using Win231 with WLP. My books indicated that Win231 is fast burning, faster than Blue Dot, but it doesn't indicate any numbers. I started with 8.0gr with mild recoil and decent groups and progressed to 9.8gr with stout, controllable recoil and groups remained pretty tight but it take some effort for follow up shots. Someone gave me a couple of their loads to try out. 240gr Lead Cast SWC, 5.0gr Unique. It shot like a 38Spl +P+. I'm planning on using some of my hotter loads in my 8" T/C Contender barrel.
      RogueSniper,

Two bullet types I am reloading are:

      Hornady #44200 - 240 grain HP/XTP
Speer #4455 240 grain GDHP Gold Dot

      Thanks,
      John

        f4tweet,

I saw that recipe and wanted to get some Accurate #9 - but was unavailable when I placed my last order(s).

        Thanks,

Has anyone tried to get ammo recipes from Magnum Research?
