Berry 185 SWC Load .45 Auto

Loaded some Berry 185 plated SWC, 5.7 gr Bullseye, Wolf LPP, 1.24 OAL

They worked fine in my Ruger P 345 but my SA GI would have nothing to do with them. They seemed a bit hot (no chronograph so just guessing). Some of the cases were discolored on one side, but no evidence of overpressure.

For me the moral of the story is 185 SWC aren't for me if they don't feed all my 45s. Fortunately I ordered 2k Rainier 200 gr RN from Midway. They put it in the US Post Office "If it fits it ships" box- all 60 lbs. I think the mailman had a hernia bringing it to the door.

Just thought I'd throw out a data point.

Yeah I noticed with my Glock 21 the 185 SWC don't work as well. I prefer the RN myself. My buddy had some issues with the SWC in his HK45. We're sticking with the RN for both guns.

I've shot lead SWC out of all of my 1911's without issue. Plated SWC jam up in my GI guns.

If plated run along the lines of a straight lead swc, I run my SA mil-spec (match barrel, trigger job & slide tightened) with 4.2g of BE.
