    wildcat primers

Ok so Im breaking out a old wildcat pistol load and was wondering what the diffrence in small pistol primers and amall rifle primers would be.
It a 7mm super mag. 357 max case necked down to 7mm. The case finished size as a 7TCU except for the rimmed case of the 357 max case. So which primers?

If the case started out as a .357 max, then pistol primers should be correct.
If it is custom brass, maybe SR primers were used.
Best to be careful here and get it right.
SR primers are taller than SP, maybe seat one of each primer in a case to see what fits at the correct seating depth.
Of course, you could get all technical and measure the primer pocket dimensions and then compare them to the primer dimensions.
Either way, be careful and be sure.

This cartridge is almost like a rimmed 7tcu but as I recall the case capacity is slightly less , I would use small rifle primers . Start light and work up as usuall , My 7 tcu is very accurate .

The pistol is a BF and very accurate. I just havent pulled it out in 10 years. I need to find my old log to see what I used.

I use BR4 Primers for rifle.
