Stoner action VS powder burn rate

I don't know if this belongs here or in the centerfire rifle forum... I think here.
Anyways, I read somewhere that certain popular powders for bolt guns burn too slow for gas guns and that they can over pressure the gas system and cause damage to the gun.
Specifically it was said that Varget burns too slow for the 308 stoner actions and should not be used. I am wondering wether this is true or false, and either way should an appropriately faster powder for the caliber be used in a stoner type action?

Any thoughts or experiace no this one folks?

For 15 things YOU CAN DO to improve our 2nd A RKBA so we can: pass "Shall Issue" Right-to-Carry; repeal the CA AWB; and pass a CA con. RKBA amendment, go to: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...416#post842416
