    Buying and Shipping

If I wanted to buy a box or two of 00 buck and 357 online off like palmettos, and it came to my house, can I send it to my uncle up in nor cal through normal ups or fed ex? He doesn't have internet nor a credit card, hes pretty old. And mostly confined to walking short distances. So rarely has chance to go far from his home.

And he lives near the north boarder of Nor Cal, while I am in Orange County. Any help would be appreciated in info, also noticed as I was going to place an order on Palmettos, could I buy ammo and send as a gift? Billing address, and shipping address forms were on the site.

Why not just order it drop-shipped to his door?

I'd also opt to just have it shipped right to him but if you are ordering a bulk order and wish to send you uncle some of yours, yes, you can send it to him just make sure that its through ground shipping only. They have a thing about sending explosive components into planes

Ah ok good, cause I wanted to order some for myself, and just go to fed ex or ups, and send him a box of 00 I got here at big 5. 2 box, 5 shell count for 6.99 and also a box of game shells 100 in a box for 19.99 as well 357 from pal's after I got my stuff in for my guns. Are there any special instructions? Do I have to say anything or can I just put it in, and tape it at the shipping center and mail it ground only shipping? That would be great since he can't readily go into town so easily. His last drivers lic I think was 1975?

It needs to have an ORM-D sticker on the outside and it needs to be marked "small arms ammunition".
You can NOT ship it via the US Postal service.

What is that? Does it cost anymore then a normal package to be sent? Does my uncle need to present anything when he takes delivery? Just so he can be prepared and have it on hand? Like I said he's not that great a walker anymore so quickest easiest thing for him to do would make it easier on him. I've always sent him stuff like clothes, knives, and other misc items, and do I just go up to the FedEx person at the counter and say, I am shipping ammunition to a family member, and they just slap a sticker on there? Can I also send cleaning supplies for his guns in there too? Or do they have to be sent separately? Sorry for all the Q's never sent ammo before. Also need to get clays at wal mart so he can enjoy shooting more when he is bored. They have a great sale on 100 shells bulk box!

So also if a friend in bakersfield finds ammo for me cheaper, can they send it to me via FedEx? Like if I was sending her a box of shoes? Just needs an orm-d sticker on it? Do I need to put orm-d sticker on cleaning materials for my grand uncle if I send like some lube, solvent, and etc? No tricky process or long waiting period? Have you done this kind of stuff before too? If I found someone on here who is willing to buy ammo in bulk cause its a good price, and resell to me, its the same thing in the future right?

ORM-D sticker is needed for fluids/chemicals as well as ammunition.
The fluids will get marked "consumer commodities".

So simply writing "ORM-D" in a rectangle on the box along with the notation "small arms ammunition" is all that is needed to ship blanks/ammo? ground shipping of course.

Seems to me it would be cheaper to buy one or two boxes of ammo locally -Shipping is expensive -- Maybe get one of his neighbors to pick it up for him - my ha-penny
