Opinions on AmmoSpy?

I built a site that was launched a few weeks ago called AmmoSpy.

I'd really appreciate any input you guys have on how I can improve it. Two things that will definitely happen soon: more dealer sites will be added (right now there are 10 that are crawled for deals) and more calibers will be added.

One thing I'd like to do is allow you to set up alerts so that if a certain caliber (perhaps weight, bullet type and brand) becomes cheaper than formerly listed, you'd receive an email alerting you to the cheaper price. Perhaps you could set the specific cost per round you're interested in and receive an alert only when it reaches that price. I can do text messages as well. Is that something you would find useful?

I realize there are a few similar sites out there. My goal is to be better than them!

Looks OK to me.

In the long run it's all going to be dependent the size of your dealer data base and how accurate/current the information is.

Filters for manufacturer

Add some way to filter out Wolf/Brown Bear/Silver Bear/Tula/regular CCI Blazer/<insert non-Brass-cased ammo vendor here>.

Including shipping like "the other guys" will at some point be imperative, but fine not to have it for now.

Just logged in - says last update was 46 hours ago.

I think you need to have more frequent updates - I would say at least two times during normal business hours.

Also - I think having reloading supplies added is a good suggestion that was made by bruce381.

I agree this would be a good filter. Other than that it looks good. I used it yesterday to price hunt myself.

Thanks guys. All great suggestions and all features I was considering implementing.

The prices will be updated more frequently as the crawler gets better. My goal is to have it crawl once in the middle of the night and again in the evening.
