I bought my first reloading equipment about a month ago. I picked up the Lee 50th Anniversary kit with Lee 9mm carbide dies, 500 124gr FMJ bullets, 600 9mm casings, and 4lbs of Vihtavuory N340 powder for 260. I received my Wolf SP primers last week so all I needed was a caliper. I went out to Harbor Freight and picked up a digital caliper for about 25 bucks.
I got my press and powder measure mounted on my desk (I still need to remount everything since my desk isn't stable enough) and started prepping my brass. I had Sky_diver (Al) come by to give me some 1 on 1 training. Thanks again Al!
I cranked out about 20 rounds with 4.7gr under the 124gr bullet and went out to try em' out. I fired some factory rounds first for comparison and loaded my reloads. As I load the mag and chamber a round, I couldn't believe how nervous I was! I didn't know what to expect...I was just hoping my gun didn't blow up in my face. So I took my first shot, and the first round hit where I aimed. Phew! All of my reloads fired as intended and my first reloading experience was a success!
I'm now hooked on reloading. As soon as I got home I started cranking out more rounds. For all of you who think you need a lot of capitol to start out, you dont. I got started for roughly under 300 bucks. I only plan to shoot about 500 rounds a month, so my setup is perfect for me. The only thing I really dont like is my scale that came with my kit. Other than the scale, I'm really happy with my equipment and the results I achieved.
