    Hornady case trimmer

I have an old style and it's kind of a pita to use. Anyone use a new style one or another brand that they like that is fast simple and cheap?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I have a Dillon trimmer with a motor. Works well if you don't want to spend on a Giraud. The motor does get really hot but hasn't broken so far.

I just got a possum hollow .223 trimmer $20 bucks at midway and it works pretty good. It is really fast for doing bulk prep.
The downside it indexes off the case shoulder so if your brass isn't all shot out of the same rifle you'll get slightly different trim lenghts(-/+.005)

I just got a hornady lnl case prep center. It is slow to use and is best suited for benchrest shooters and not for building blasting ammo at 3/4 of the price of the girard I wish I would have got that instead. Looks good on the bench though.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

They do sell a power drill adaptor for the Hornady trimmer... They work Ok for me. Much better then handcrank!

Well, I went through the Lee Zip trimmer and the Hornady trimmer before I settled on the Possum Hollow. It's far superior, at least for non-precision work. It does index off the shoulder, but you should be trimming after you size, so that doesn't make that much of a difference. The cases I spot check all come in between 1.750 and 1.754. I bought the power adapter and chucked it up in my drill press, I can trim about 600 cases an hour. I'll stick with the Hornady trimmer for precision stuff, it's more consistent. The Zip trim I'm going to keep around to let my 2-year-old play with when he wants to "help".

Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm trimming .223.
