WalMart Employee Fired over ammo sales!!

I hate to say this because losing a job is one of the most devastating things a breadwinner can go through. However, in this case, I feel good about it.

Was at my local store this morning to see what 9mm was available. The last few weeks have been really tough finding anything in what has been a well stocked store (considering the times). Store manager, some other guy in a suit, and the security guard were escorting an employee out of the store. Behind them was a guy with at least 25 boxes of ammo in a cart. He was complaining that he should still be able to buy it as the clerk was letting him do this each time a shipment came in (way to burn your buddy). They must have had a nice little arrangement going.

Was really hoping to see the ammo back on the shelf. Unfortunately, 3 hours later, nothing there still.

I almost feel bad for the WalMart guy. However, with the price gougers out there, was glad to see at least one have their business disrupted.

I hope WalMart cracks down on more people like this.

Why would you feel bad for anyone involved in this? The employee is breaking store policy. The buyer is obviously buying a TON of ammo if hes picking up 25 boxes a trip and you know where that's ending up.

Behind a vail of secrecy and against store policy...yes, I'd be happy he lost his job. It's the horders that do this behind closed doors that have driven prices up in the first place.

I used to buy 4,000 to 5,000 rounds every other month from walmart for our training business.. walmart was about the same as wholesale through the regular suppliers I just didn't have to order ahead of time and I could get the 100 packs which are harder to get otherwise...long story short, BVAC is now my source but I have to order months ahead of time and stock up, and carry inventory which raises prices for my customers...I don't "hoard" I shoot and supply ammo for my clients to shoot... I have clients who are unable to do their re-qual for security/ccw with the gun on the permit as they can't find ammo... luckily I have been able to supply most calibers for them except .380... nobody seems to have practice .380...

it's a little bit unlikely with walmart wages this guy could really afford all that much ammo and just for himself, especially if its a racket going on. Not realy plausible w/o turning it over for profit. it's possible especially if he lives with his parents and no other expenses. but come one, realistically?

i don't feel bad at all, especially first and foremost, he broke company policy. then he breaks the policy of only 6 boxes of ammo limit, unless walmart employees are exempt from that.

OK – Just wasted another 30 minutes of my time going back hoping to find the ammo on the shelf. The clerk in sporting goods has no idea where it went. She did say that according to the store manager, the ammo never made it to the case. The guy stashed it until his buddy could come in and buy it. They thought they were OK because they rang it up in 5 or 6 separate transactions, always paying cash (I wish I had that much cash). Sited several major violations of store policy. She was pissed because she has to work his shift tomorrow night.

After hearing a bit more, I am glad the guy got fired. Too bad no laws were broken so they could go after the buyer. When they asked what do you need that much ammo for? His answer was “none of your business” (based on what the clerk told me). I know I’m stereo typing based on appearance, but I really would not want to be talking any type of gun course from the person I saw.

It’s one thing if someone just beats you to the deal. It’s another if you never had a chance.

If you shoot on a regular basis, it doesn't take much to go through 1000 rounds. My pattern use to be to buy 1000 rounds when I was low. Often used to go to Walmart and get it. Sometimes even 2000 rounds if I had some training planned. 18 months ago it was no big deal to do that. I understand and can live w the limit but I do look forward to when you can buy what you want based on how often you shoot.

Yea screw the free market and screw capitalism. We should just be given ammo by the government in reasonable quantities so no one can hoard it.

It's not free market when no one else has the chance to buy it. Read a basic Economics book.

I've got some WWB up for sale for what I bought it for, doesn't seem like anyone is buying it.
