    Estimates for Brass

Is there anyway to estimate by weight how much .223 brass I have?

I don't need an exact number really, but just a rough estimate. I think its some where over 1k, but probably alitlte under 1.4k

would weighing 10-15 cases then weigh the total batch, then do the math to figure it out from there give me a rough estimate? what do you think the margin for error is?

I think 90-95grs per case is a fair estimate. 77-73 cases per pound is about right.

95gr per case with spent primer, 7000gr per pound, 73 cases per pound. One K of brass will weigh about 13.6lbs.

the high dollar counting scale is nothing more than a decent scale with a built in calculator that does the math for you . weigh 20 pcs and then get the average weight of 1 and divide into the total weight less the container and you will be very close .

thats pretty much what I was considering, I didn't even know there was a scale that was specific for estimating this.

Take a big measuring cup, count out how many it takes to fill it. Dump it, Keep track of how many times you can fill it...
