    Rifle Loading question

I am loading 308 for precision shooting. I do not have a concentricity gauge but recall seeing that some people start seating the bullet and then turn the case a 1/3rd and then seat some more and turn another 1/3rd and seat all the way home...I am following that procedure and am wondering if it is making any difference as it takes 2x's longer to seat bullets this way. Is anybody else doing this...Anybody compared with a guage if it makes a difference?

Loading on a Redding Big Boss II press, Redding match dies and using 2155's or 2156's (when I can find them)

Never done this myself before but I'd be interested to hear of the results in if it makes a difference.

That's a trick for people that don't have a floating seater like your redding benchrest seater.
You don't need to be doing that.
The redding dies align the bullet and the case before they start pushing the bullet into the case.
Regular does don't align the bullet to the case before seating.
Regular dies depend on the case neck to center the bullet as it enters the case neck.
