    Please help me clarify something

When Im looking for ammo online (online stores/gunbroker, etc...) and it is labeled remanufactured, does this mean it is a batch of reloads? Or is it something else?

Part 2. If it does mean reloads but its a good deal (lead core 500 for 200 bucks) how safe should I feel buying someone else's reloads, especially if it is not a gunstore somewhere selling.

    thoughts.. opinions? Experiences? Thanks

Yes, remanufactured is usually reloads. Never buy reloads from someone you don't trust with your life. Check online for reviews before buying. Definitely never buy from some random guy on gunbroker or wherever unless he states his source.

You need a license to sell reloaded ammo. So check the company's feedback.

Joe, no license required to sell at gun shows I think. And there are folks out there who are (possibly illegally) selling reloaded ammo on various forums, gunbroker, etc.

I would like to add ,Many years ago before I started reloading I was shooting some commercial reloads and got a squib , I caught it and stopped shooting.
A few years ago I was shooting reloads of a good freind who had reloaded for at least 50 years and there was a double charge that blew the gun up , no one was injured but that was the moment he relized it was time for him to hang up his press
I shoot nobodys reloads but my own !!!!

I think the correct statement is that you need a license (06 or 07 FFL) to manufacture ammo for sale, which includes reload/remanufacutured ammo No license is needed to sell ammo. For instance, I could go to ammo bros. and buy a pallet of reman'ed ammo and then sell it at a gun show, with no "manufacturing" license of my own needed.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

While it may be just semantics, I don't think "re-manufactured" is technically reloaded. My understanding is that it is military ammo with the fmj bullet replaced with a commercial jacketed bullet. The original powder may or may not be re-used. To be "reloaded" it would have to been fired.

a friend of mine's dad bought some and most where duds. it is simply not worth it unless it is from a reputable remanufactorer.
