Some do some don't. For my varmit 223 & 204 loads I always run the new stuff through a sizing die, plus check the neck & flash hole for burrs. After the rounds are loaded I check them all with a case guage.

I do because throughout the years of reloading I have seen new brass with non-concentric necks due to rough shipping or handling. So if some are so obvious that i can see I always wonder how many are just slightly off that it could make a difference. So my rule of thumb now is to just neck-size them, rather safe than sorry.

You don't haqve to resize them. But, if you look carefully, a lot of pieces will have out of round necks. I always neck size the new brass.

Polish the crap out of it. Get all the residue off it. Your dies will like them better. New brass is kind of "sticky" in the dies.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

I do a full prep on the new brass, just like once fired commercial. For the time and trouble it takes to load up and go to the rifle range, the few extra minutes in the garage are piece of mind.

                  +1 on that.

I treat it just like once-fired brass, also.
