El Cajon Gun exchange has reloading components as do a few of the turners. El cajon is WAY over priced. Sorry to say but your best bet is to mail order.

      First things first.

Welcome aboard. I think you will like it here.

Lots of things to learn and if you can work your way through the weirdos you will learn what you need to know.

Look up C&R 03 FFL. It's easy to get and will qualify you for dealer pricing at a lot of the big online suppliers. The $30 dollars it costs you for three years will be saved on your first purchase. Hold off and do some research. We will help.
      It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

No, not really. Anything that you "really" want or "really" need is going to be mail order. You will actually do better finding stuff for sale on craigslist or here on this forum. I haven't been to all SD shops but most of them. Most gear will be ridiculously over priced and the staff will have little knowledge about it. I sometimes quiz these people on what they are selling and they have no idea of what I am talking about or just give me complete B.S. All they know and care about is that they have a box with a price on it.
What do you want to reload? How much do you shoot now? Find the cost of reloading first before jumping in.

          Welcome!

If you are talking shotgun supplies, then John Lumn is your guy. He hangs out at the old Miramar (San Diego Shotgun Sports now.) range most days until about noon.

He does carry different brands of powder and some metallic primers too. He is not a gouger, at least the last time I bought from him.

IIRC, a 4# Bullseye container was in the mid $50 range, about 4 months ago.

There is also a guy in El Cajon that sells refurb'ed MEC shotshell loaders for a great price if that's what you're after.

I am up in San Marcos. I have an extra RCBS powder measure, case neck brushes, lee hand prime and collet set. etc to get rid of. I will sell way under dealer price.

              Reloading Suppies

Thanks for both the welcome and the info. I am shooting Granddad's Enfield 1917 30-06. He had it sporterized for hunting. He asked me to take care of it for him so I take it out for exercise once in awhile keep it clean and ready to use.
The price and availability of ammo got me investigating reloading. When I was little I would watch him reload his own rounds. I think it would be a nice skill to learn and maybe pass on to someone else one day.
I have already jumped in with a simple Lee single stage kit and dies. Finally found some primers, powder and bullets, all online. I am used to buying online, motorcycle parts to music. I was just hoping to find a local shop but with the state of the union these days probably not going to happen.
I hope you guys don't mind me picking your brains once in awhile.
