Which manufacture do most of ya like and use. I am looking for an all around (if there is such a thing) powder that I could use for a 55 grain plinking round.

I went to each of the manufactures web sites and down loaded their load data. There is just a lot of different type and models out there. Just trying to narrow it down if at all possible. Thanks

I use ramshot tac for my ar for plinker ammo. It actually is quite accurate though and Im impressed with the powder. Its one of the cheaper powderbs out there.

me too i just about finished off my 8 pound gallon of tac

i only have 900 grains left 40 bullets and 30 cases and am out of primers

A lot of people at my club like Accurate Arms 2230.. I've used AA 2015 with success, it is a faster powder, but works well with up to 55 gr bullets. If you can find it, either WC 844 or WC 846 are good (H335 and BLC-2 equivs for Can grade), and um.. as someone mentioned.. TAC.. and Winchester 748. Some people like varget.. I've never used it so can't comment.

For 55gr .223 plinking ammo I like Ramshot Xterminator. It burns cleaner than Tac. I like Tac for 69 and 77 gr loads though.

I like Hodgdon because they own Winchester powders and IMR also. Their database has the largest variety of load options.

I prefer Varget and TAC for .223. Have also had good results with H-335 and IMR-4895. TAC seems to be in stock and on any given day it will group as well as Varget.

for my 62gr and 55gr plinking rounds I use only H335 and a Dillon 650

1) H335 (need SRM primers)
2) Varget

I use IMR 3031 it is a good versatile powder that I can use for all the calibers that I reload. Perfect for plinking.
