    Damaged .40 ammo

    Gentlemen your opinions please:

J&G Sales is advertising .40 cal ammo, $75 for 500 rounds. Sound too good to be true? you decide.......

    Per J&G website:

"Due to extensive water damage, this ammo is sold For Components Only. It is not to be fired and is only suitable for reusing the components for reloading." Is this a warning to cover their behinds or would you NOT shoot this stuff?

What you are going to get is a number of dud loads, squib loads and bad pressure fluctuations from bullets corroded to the cases. It's not something that I would shoot or even tear down for components.

Isn't that kinda expensive?? That's assuming the only usable component is the brass and bullet? Just think of the time it will take to remove all the bullet from the brass....

Primers that are staked in bullets that might crack while being pulled . Seems like a lot of work .

The guy selling the ammo should disassemble it himself.......he's asking for trouble. IMO

I wouldn't mess with those if they were free.

I have shot some of that and yea it does have its problems for sure, plus I had to change springs to make it cycle correct...Hmmm

500 into 75 bucks is about 15 cents a round. If that is expensive

                Oh well...

Go for it imho if you want to...Yes it is a warning of sorts...
