    How lucky am I?

So my uncle hears i got a .223, that day he is in town, brings by like 1000 hornady sx and speer 62 grn bullets for me, a .223 rcbs die, a case trimmer, a powder trickler, primers, and 100 rounds of premium loaded .223 ammo, a rcbs rock chucker, scales, the list goes on....

Any varmint loads here reccomended with 4895? for .223 to work up?

The Speer Manual # 12 lists 22.5 gr of IMR 4895 as a starting load for the 62 gr bullet and 24.5 (compressed load) as the max charge weight for the 62. 62's are a bit heavy for varmint as I thought you tended to want to shoot a lighter bullet faster, say a 40 or 45 gr pill. For the 45 gr bullet, it lists 25 gr as a starting load for IMR4895 and a max load of 27 gr. and that is a compressed charge for the 45.
