    busted forster press

I was sizing some 223 last nite when my press broke. At first I didn't think anything of it when I heard something fall on the ground. I thought it was the brass that fell but instead two pieces of the press that was on the ground. I picked up the two pieces of the press to piece it back and boy I was surprised the press broke. The press is approx two months old and less than 1k of ammo. At the time I was resizing the motion was smooth with minimal resistance. This type of press design shouldn't have broke!!!! oh well.

I called Forster and spoke with a technician. He said that it is the first that this has happened. He mentioned it might have been a flaw in the forging process. He told me it might have been a "bubble" but I cant remember the technical word he told me.

Anyways, what i really want to say is excellent customer service by Forster. The technician was apologetic "several times". The UPS just came by today and picked up my old press. I should have a new one in a few days.

Wow that's kinda shocking and with only 223 cases. Must have been defective from the get-go. Glad they are taking care of you.

            That's a casting, not a forging.
            There was probably a void.
