Excellent.
I too use commercial walnut purchased form the pet store. I tumble my brass in an electric cement mixer bought new for $90, brass is fed in by the bucket full.
When my neighbor's kid plays his music loud or they fail to stop their dog from barking I roll the mixer into my back yard and kick it on in response. More media makes it quiet and less media makes it noisy, depends on the given situation. If they don't care who they annoy then neither do I.Comment

I just tried this. It is too corse for 223 - it is just the right size to get into the neck and get stuck in the case. Shouldn't be a problem with anything else though.just go to your local Petco or Walmart and get this. I ve been using it for a while.

Since I'm just starting out with reloading, I'd rather have a fixable problem than destroy a rifle or hurt myself or worse yet my son...
In any event, all it took was a short piece of 030 welding wire and most pieces would come right out.
The next batch got ground up and sifted to ensure it would come out

I meant the lesson that is learned is that everyone tries the petco corn in their .223 cases and the corn gets stuck. I posted that I learned this lesson the hard way five months ago.

I had to throw out an entire batch of .223 for that same reason. I'll never mess with corn again. Walnut works just fine, with the occasional addition of a couple capfuls of mineral spirits and NuFinish car wax.

Well, I just proccessed 500 LC casings. They looked real bad when I got them, real bad! I tumbled them with pet store walnut shell, de-caped and resized, trimed to length, removed primer crimp, de-burred and chamferd, than back into the tumbler for a final polish and lube removal and HOLY COW, they look like jewelry, I can't believe how good they look. I have never been able to get any brass to polish that well. The Nu-finish, mineral spirits, used dryer sheet and 3-4 hours final tumble time is the trick for sure!!The left - "You don't need guns. Police will protect you."
