Need HELP with NEW LEE Progressive Press

Actually "WE" need some help.

I convinced my friend a few months back to get into shooting with me.
He did, and started to realize that the loads I was shooting out of my
G22, were nice and smooth. I load on a lee single stage press, and
do it one at a time.... slow as Sh*t but they go bang everytime.

Anyways, my friend is a smart guy. Read all the manuals, consulted the
online forums, watched a few good video authors on YouTube....etc..

However, he has been having the worst experience imaginable with this
Lee press.

I've been unable to help, because I don't know much about them, and
he's smarter than me...

We need someone with some serious knowledge about setting these
up correctly. We've built rounds with this one and cannot figure out
what's going on, but the rounds are not working correctly in the
pistol.

and YES, we've taken measurements of all the angles of the rounds being made....etc.. Done as much by the book as we can.. and it is still not working.

We are both at our wits end.

He lives in the City, the press is at his place.

We are hoping an expert who is currently "Successfully" using a LEE progressive press could come over and help us get this thing working
correctly.

Hell. I'd be willing to throw in $50 bucks for the gas and troubles.

Problem solved. Not the press but low powder charge.

Some people are like the government. When they have a problem they blame the wrong thing and throw a lot of money at it. Problem in this case was the reloader used too little a powder charge. That my friend has absolutely nothing to do with the press.

No doubt that you can under-charge a case with a dillon press too.
That's what reloading manuals are for.
Unfortunately, we have people telling new reloaders that they can get all the data for free on the internet...
These new reloaders that follow such advice are missing a HUGE amount of the other parts of the reloading manuals.
Then we get threads like this.

Notice above that I said Lee problems can be fixed by a dillon press.
I did NOT say that operator errors could be fixed.

So now you're saying a reloading manual would have prevented the problem, then we agree. But since I had already posted that the problem was operator error and nothing to do with the press, why the comment about the way to fix a Lee is to buy a Dillon??? You like Dillon, fine it's a very good product. I prefer the Lee. It does what the Dillon does for a fraction of the cost. Why do so many people have problems with Lee? Because they usually buy the Lee first (due to cost) make their mistakes and learn their lessons, then are persuaded to buy a Dillon. Of course by the time they buy a Dillon they have learned most if not all the "ins and outs' of reloading and make less mistakes.

Can we simply agree that both presses work and not attack each other?

I love both my Lee presses.

I also love both my Hyundai's

Why? cause they are a great value for the money. The Lee is not as fast or precise as the Dillon, the hyundais are not Ferrari either. But I can only shoot 2k a month or so, and the speed limit is still 65 where I drive...
