    Shotgun Shell reloading

Can shotgun shells be reloaded and are the spent cases from all this dove hunting we are doing worth anything? I keep throwing them away, but thought maybe they are worth something or maybe someone would want them if they aren't worth much.

Out in the mountains there's a mini free-shooting range nearby, the people who go shoot there just leave their shotshells there and I always pick em up. I got a whole stash of federal, winchester, etc. 12 and 20 gauge. I'm planning on selling em to somebody once I get more. Keep em, as others who do reload them will want them (oh yeah, the answer to the main question... they can).

some of the cheap $21 promo pack 100ct box shells CAN be reloaded, but nobody hoards them in quantity-the federal cheapies have a paper base-wad-you can see it when you look down it under light. Usually the $6-$8 per box premium line loads are the ones to keep.

The most desireable hulls to reload are winchester AA.
The promo packs are not nearly as desireable because they don't crimp as nicely and they tend to "leak" shot.
