    Wolf ammo..

I have some new Wolf 122 gr 7.62X39 ammo that has the berdan primed steel case ammo and I can't figure out if it is steel core bullets or not..I know the magnet will react to the closeness of the steel case so figured I would carry a spec sheet to the range wiith me to show it was not steel cored bullets..

So what I am asking is this stuff steel core and where can I find specs on it to use a proof of it NOT being a steel core round..thanks..all5x

The easiest way that I can think of is to simply pull the bullet off one of your rounds. Take it along with you / your ammo and show them the bullet is non-magnetic.

This process should take all of about 25 sec.. Good luck..

It is definitely not steel cored. Steel cored 7.62x39 has been banned from importation for several years now, and you say your ammo is new. But the projectiles are most likely steel jacketed. Wolf used to make a copper jacketed 7.62x39 that came in a yellow box, but I believe they stopped making it a couple of years ago after the price of copper quadrupled . Maybe they will start making it again soon, since the price of copper has dropped back down.

If the wolf ammo you got is in a black box, it is steel jacketed.

If it is yellow box, you are good to go!
