Shotgun Shipping Box Wanted - Off Topic

    Sorry, a little off-topic.

I need a box to ship a semi-auto shotgun with a 28 inch barrel. Don't care what manufacturer it is.

    I'm in Orange County.

    Thanks,
    Al

    Overall length ?
    Go to Uhaul service center.
I usually make a box using a wardrobe box. Alot of cutting and gluing.
Then use some small trash bags and spray foam insulation to secure the rifle.
Use the extra cardboard to stiffen the box.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
    I'm Back.

USPS say they won't accept a box made up of pieces, at least where I am.

I tried to ship a shotgun once, all I was told was to go to gunshops and beg a box from them. I ended up selling it locally.

I make my own boxes for odd size things all the time. They're not made of different pieces, just cut and folded to the right size. When you do it right, it doesn't even look like a modified box. Fold the box over a table or something with a sharp edge to the right size, cut slots in the corners for the flaps. Hot glue or tape it as you would any other box. I've made plenty of boxes out of large cardboard pieces as well.

Agree w making your own box. I had to ship snowboards this year. Went to the local spa shop and grabbed an empty spa cover box. Cut it up and taped it up and voila! custom box.

          Good luck!

You could remove the barrel to shorten the box needed to ship. Just lay the barrel next to the stock with packing between so that they don't touch and send it.

I've ordered a cheapo plastic gun case from amazon and used the box it shipped in.
