what 9mm JHP for 16in PCC?

What is a good 9mm JHP to use in a 16in barrel? I know most HP are designed for 3-5 in barrel and will not perform well in 16 in. I would prefer one that perform acceptable in both pistol and rifle, but it doesn't have to. Thanks.

I haven't shot many thru my Ruger PC Carbine but 147gr factory HST's seem to feed reliably and disintegrate medium size watermelons quite spectacularly out to 50yds.

I don't have a 9mm PCC but I do have a 45ACP PCC and a 357mag PCC. You should be able to shoot any JHP or FMJ. You will get some speed boost over shooting through a pistol.

Not sure what you are concerned about. Are you simply target shooting or something else.

I have 45ACP loads that I make with Hornady HAP and XTP bullets and/or the Zero clones. I shoot them through either my PCC or CZ pistols.

What do you mean by "not perform well"? In what respect?

9mm JHPs are designed to perform optimally at speed from 4-5in barrel. Too slow ( 3in barrel), some will under expand and over penetrate. Too fast, some will over expand and underpenetrate. Some even break apart at that speed. I was asking if anybody knows of a load that meets FBI requirements, shooting from a 16in barrel, or specifically Ruger PCC 9mm.
        Thanks.

OK that helps a lot. You are interested in terminal ballistics. You got me interested so I did a little searching. I think you will find the article and video here very helpful
Let's explore the best self defense ammo for pistol caliber carbines. How do common ammo loads perform in carbines vs pistols?

Looks like Federal 147gr HST would be a solid choice.

I have found the Luck Gunner work very helpful for a lot of things.
