Results are in-55g Vmax load data requested

Csn some one please give me the Hornady load data for 223 55g Vmax bullets using Win 748? I'm loading for an AR carbine 16" 1/9 twist and I have only found data for the 50g and 62g. I usually load 26.5g of 748 for 55g FMJ's. TIA

The Hornady manual says 23 - 27.7 grains of Win 748 with a 55 grain bullet.

        This is NOT load data.
This is a Quickload simulation using the bullet and powder you asked about.

        Code:
        Cartridge : .223 Rem. (SAAMI)
        Bullet : .224, 55, Hornady V-MAX FB 22271
        Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.260 inch or 57.40 mm
Barrel Length : 16.0 inch or 406.4 mm
        Powder : Winchester 748

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 0.926% of nominal charge.

Thanks guys, The simulation data is priceless. looks lke I can get 2924 fps safely using the same load I use for FMJ's. I'll find out after working up afew. I'd like to get 2950 to 3000fps. We'll see what happens

I'm excited to see what those VMAX bullets will do to watermelons at the next Pinata shoot.

Those 55g hollow points at 26.5/2230 sure did a number, Huh.
I'm looking forward to trying them too. Bring lots of melons!

                Results

Loaded up some test rounds and shoot them Saturday. Started at 24g and went to 27.4. Got flat primers at 27.0. My best groups at 26.2.
Looks like that is the load for my 16" AR carbine. Bushmaster patrolman upper, Territorial Gunsmith lower, RRA PLK, with an A2 stock and an A2 Flash Supressor. Thanks Again!

keep in mind guys, if you shoot at Angeles, the elevation is 1404ft, this will increase your velocity by at least 100 fps!

Yet another post raised from the dead.
748 is correct. My carbine likes 26.5 with a 55gr FMJ At 2.230 and 26.2 with the Vmax 55gr at 2.250.
