B12 Mini Blanks

Has anyone tried to make mini 1? 12 gauge blanks? Not a lot of information out there. I?ll probably try a grain of smokeless powder and measure db. But some known safe pressure recipes would be nice.

You should be able to load 40gr of black powder or pyrodex and then fill the rest of the shell with card wads until you get the right stack height to do the roll crimp.
You can make a cutting tool out of a piece of PVC pipe to help you cut down used hulls to a consistent length.

These will be best in break-open shotguns or manually fed into repeaters as many tube fed shotguns won't feed mini-shells from the magazine.

I just tried 5gr of 700x and used flower foam as the wad. Compressed it down. I just eyeballed with a razor blade to trim to length. Sound signature was unimpressive. I’ll have to try BP next. Thanks.
