FTE problems with CBC 9mm brass

I reloaded some once fired CBC (Brazilian) 9mm brass and had 6 FTEs in the 150 rounds I loaded for Beretta 92FS. I was quite surprised since I've never had this problem when using many other brands of brass, military or commercial. The other brass was loaded with same bullet, primer, and amount and brand of powder.

They were loaded with 4.7g of 231, 115g bullet, seated to OAL of 1.105. Loaded on XL 650 with powder check station.

The failure to ejects were not squib loads. I could only remove jammed cases by removing slide and barrel and then used a brass rod pushed in from the front of the barrel and tapping it against a table.

What might be going on here? I'm not going to reuse the CBC brass.

How'd the brass look after you removed it? Better yet, did you check the dimensions of the brass after sizing it?

Brass case looked fine, no different than the others that ejected.

Did not measure dimensions after sizing, but I do check a few of the finished rounds with a Dillon case gauge and they were fine.

I saved one of the FTE cases so I could measure at home but by the time I got home I misplaced the case I was saving.

I wonder if it's possible that the CBC brass is not as consistent as other brands as far as the diameter near the rim and during the resizing process they are not resized as the should be. I am using Dillon carbide resizer die without lube.

I haven't had any issues with reloading CBC brass for my glock 17. The brass seems to be very consistent, and I haven't noticed any major changes in dimensions after reloading and firing the same case several times.

I tried the brass when they were selling it in bulk at Turners. I found that it was very hard and requires a 20% load reduction in order to stop blowing primers. Yes, I blew primers with book loads that did not blow primers with Win and FC brass which is much softer. So I threw the brass away because it was worth less than dog poop.

I think you are running excessive pressures and that's why the brass is sticking.

That brass was much harder to resize than another 9mm brass I've used. When I say harder I mean substantially more effort required when handle on press is lowered.

I noticed it was hard when seating the bullets.

I had the same problem it was so difficult I had to readjust the powder drop die so the case mouth could be expanded more.

That brass just didn't work out for me. It's now in the bucket with other scrap brass.

I've re-loaded my cbc cases about 4 times, 1600 rounds worth, without any FTE. I don't like this brass though because the walls are thin so I've been leaving them behind at the range.
