    Pistol brass catcher

    Anyone use one of these?

I'm old enough now to where I've gotten tired of having to bend over to pick up brass. I find myself shooting my revolvers more and my autos less. Wondering if anyone uses one of these and if they work decently enough.

I considered one of those, but was wondering if the range would get annoyed seeing me use one.

Short answer yeah they don't like seein a tool like that, besides an exspensive tool. Don't ask me how I know that. My best advise is two things.
1 Get to know your RO's like what energy drink (sugar free?)they like what deli sando puts a smile.on thier face.
2 Get a brass marking deal off etsy and the like. They fit a sharpie inside the deal and you mark your pistol brass with a ring and you pick what color sharpie ur brass will have. So it's easy to eyeball on the ground. I have on e for my rifle brass also since you put the effort into swagin and whatnot.
        Hope this helps.

Buy one at a home and garden store (walnut pick up device), not a rebranded firearms range device with double the price.

You go out hunting butterflies or something? That looks GHEYYYYY!!!

Yeah, I usually ask for a bench at either end so my brass isn't getting mixed up with other peoples brass. I also mark my brass. And, I shoot a few mags and then pickup my brass. No biggie.

For one of the ranges I went to often, I had a simple mesh that hung down from a magnet & PVC pipe contraption that kept the brass from bouncing all over the place. Most of the time, it would fall back down close by.

I've been to a few ranges that have those roller things already there for public use.

They don't exactly work well. If mobility is an issue then it definitely has a benefit over bending over, but it is slower.

Other option... Buy nas3 cases. They're fairly affordable, and they're magnetic. You can retrieve all your brass with a huge magnet. By far the easiest.

Fishing net on an arm brace... so much lolz.

If you're at an outdoor range, those wire wheel pickup devices will get rocks too.

Indoors, I just sweep the brass up next to me and then pick out what I shot.

Outdoors, I have a set of pickers from harbor freight and a bait net from the fishing store.

I made one years ago by cobbling up a broken mesh laundry bag, some wire clothes hangers, tape, and a wrist brace. Worked pretty well for catching precious 10mm and 5.7x28 brass. Desert Eagle brass on the other hand would just land inside my shirt. Misplaced that little doohicky but I sure liked it.

Wouldn't mind giving this a try honestly, as tacky as people think it may be.

                      brass catcher

I have, and still use a brass catcher made up of a small fish net attached to my arm.

I have one of these I bought on sale. I jerry rigged a camera mount to out it in top of my spotting scope tripod. It doesnt work for drill when you move around.

For catching brass on ur semi autos, your least fav baseball cap hung over your scope might do the trick

I have been using products from here

I have the picatinny version and the big, tri-pod mount version.

They work fairly well but not perfect. Cases will occasionally miss or bounce out. The tripod version requires a fairly stable, heavy base or wind may knock it over. I bought a cheap tripod on Amazon and had to craft a heavy base for it. This is from bench height at a pistol range.
