Current primer prices

Just came back from the feed store, which had 2 varieties of primers.

CCI small pistol - 12.99
Federal small pistol magnum - 5.99

It seems crazy to that the CCI is more than twice the price of the Federal. Is the CCI price out of line of the average these days?

How about the Federal? I assume the Federal is much cheaper because they're magnums, but with pistol primers Magnum doesn't matter much, right?

Buy em up! Magnum primers aren't anything to worry about. My own t&e shows a 25fps gain so I drop a tenth in juice to compensate for magnun or small rifle primers. At that price I'd buy em all!

Magnun are around as most people are afraid of them. But the hens teeth is still large pistol.

I just paid $315 for 5k CCI Spp and 5k SRP....

If they cost $60 for 1000, I would buy them(during these times). Don't buy the more expensive ones. Inflation is crazy! Same some money for food and fuel. Follow Dooder's advice and drop 0.1 grain.

Componants are never, ever, ever, EVER going to return to pre pandemic prices. Be it capitalism or supply chain/manufacture. SPP and SRP CCI can be found at 60ish/k. LPP a little more. LRP of any brand are the unicorn right now. I paid 150/k just the other day because can not be found almost anywhere, at least online.

I purchased Ginex SPP, LPP, SRP and LRP for cheap (60/k) awhile ago but I'll tell you this they are a PIA for seating as well as dbl checking every case to make sure it's at least flush with the case head. Now that I've loaded about 8k cases with them, never again. Ginex knows their primers are wider (I get it metric) but still all they would have to do is change the dimensions just a little and they would sell a ton more I bet.

We will probably never see 30/k primers, 180ish for 8# powder. The market won't allow it because besides military contracts, the public market demands them and I'd rather they stay in business selling them at 100%+ mark up. My .02 opinion.

Difference between SPP and SPP Magnum is the name, both are functioning the same.

Federal SPP for 59.9/K then buy at least 5K. I paid Ginex an import SPP more than that price.

I can walk into my local Scheels today and walk out with 20k CCI SPP at $69.99/1k. They're sitting on the shelf and not moving. There's very little demand for SPP and SRP at the moment, at least around here. What I'm having a hard time finding is LR and LP. Scheels does have a significant pile of Winchester LRP but at $129.99/1k, nobody is buying, so they're just taking up shelf space.

It seems deals can be found, but it's relative to where the supply is geographically, but at least EVERYTHING isn't super high all at the same time.

I was cleaning up this morning and found a single WW SPP underneath my rolling tool cabinet.
I was wondering if I should:
A.) Keep it for an inheritance gift.
B.) Make a down payment on a new car.
C.) Buy an ounce of gold.
Gotta make up my mind before someone finds out that I have it.
