    Dillon XL650: Indexing ring busted

Anyone have the indexing ring on their 650 break? It's part #20 on the platform assembly diagram in May 2007 intruction manual. I bought my press in about 1994 so and I'm not really concerned that it broke since Dillon will send me a new one as soon as I call them on Monday. Only problem is I really need to do some reloading this week for a class next weekend.

So if anyone had this part break and has a quick temporary fix that would be good. I'm trying super glue now, but I've never had that much luck with it.

Are the indexing rings on the new 650 still plastic?

    Edited:

I deprimed 200 9mm primers from brass and places I superglued broke again.

I have broken mine at least 3 times over the past several years. You should get the spare parts kit. Dillon will replace the broken one ASAP but when it happens on a Fiday night or week end you are up the creek. Make sure you get everything re-aligned.

Something is wrong with how you have adjusted theshellplace clearance or the ejector wire if you are having that much force on the index ring.
Is everything greased and freely moving?
Is the ejector wire pushed all the way down into position?
When the ejector wire sticks up more, it's harder for the cases to eject from the shellplate at the last station.

Everything was greased and seemed to moving smoothly until it broke.

Is the ejector wire pushed all the way down into position?
As I recall, when I removed the platform assembly, the ejector wire might not have been pushed down all the way against the shellplate. So maybe that is the cause of the breakage.

Yep I broke one recently, when you talk to Dillon ask them to send you the alignment tool too. Mine broke because I had a primer get sucked back into the case and jammed up while I was reloading really fast. Get an extra.

The fellow I spoke with yesterday said it comes with an alignment pin or something like that. He volunteered to send me an extra index ring too.
