    Hornady Steel Match

With the discontinuation of Hornady Steel Match a bit ago, is there a comparable affordable quality ammo offered by anyone these days?

I know "steel case" does not generally denote "quality" but this stuff actually was pretty accurate factory ammo, and my rifle likes the 75gr 223 stuff quite a bit.

No idea but the way Hornady tracks and follows trends it would not surprise me if sales dropped and material cost rose. That would be all the reason they would need to drop it. That or maybe they needed the line for a more popular product.

Yeah I need to do some research and see if I can dig up what the average price per round was. Might help guide my current search a bit.

Edited to add: Some googling looks like this stuff was around $0.44 per round when available, which would be about $0.54 today. That stuff was probably underpriced as it was back in the day. Looks like the closest thing these days is PPU 75 grain stuff. Might give that a try, even though my barrel does not like their 69 grain stuff.
