Hollow base lead bullets purchasing.

Do you know the on line store that sell the "Lead Hollow Base bullets" for .38SPL/.357MAG, .44 SPL/MAG and .45 Long Colt. ?
Edit: I think, I should learn how to mold the Hollow Base bullets.

Lots of places have HBWC's for 38. 44 you generally don't need HB unless you're running light loads. Same with 45 Colt.

HB bullets are designed to obturate under low(er) pressure to seal the gas behind the bullet. You don't want to try to run them too fast for a couple of reasons: they're lead, so high velocity will cause leading problems, and there is a possibility of driving the head of the bullet out while leaving the skirt in the chamber/barrel.

That said, Bear Creek Bullets offer HB bullets in all 3 calibers you asked about.

Bear Creek sells good bullets, they are moly-coated and I have used many thousands of them without issue.

I skipped over all the replies to say Bear Creek, only to find out you're ordering from Bear Creek.

They're good bullets, from a good guy. They're moly coated lead so will turn your fingers black while you're reloading but reduces your lead exposure overall.

I wear nitrile gloves when handling them (to keep from getting moly all over; still better than soft-lubed bullets); does make handling them a little weird, as they start slipping around as the gloves build up a good coating.

Yeah, that coating makes the bullets move like water in the palm of your hand. Quite an odd feel.

I used to stop by the shop when passing through on business for a better deal.

Along with the standard 38 HBWC, I really liked the 200gr HBRN for 45 ACP. Basically a 230gr RN profile, so feeds in everything.

Don't forget Berry's plated (I switched to them instead of Bear Creek). Clean hands when I'm done reloading.

I think they only have 38 HBWC. And for a nickle each difference, I'll deal with the moly. I actually get very little transfer and you can put on a nitrile glove if desired.

I never had good accuracy with the Berry's plated HBWC's. Just didn't work well.

Revoman is right, but I haven't found any plated bullet to match the accuracy of jacketed or well-fitting lead bullets.

Bear Creek Bullets and USPSA (slash IDPA) is a match made in Haven. As for any, any plated bullet in any pistol caliber,
no way. I'd recommend Bear Creek any day of the week.

It takes a 8 inch round knockdown target at 35 yards for me to tell the accuracy difference between a Bear Creek and a
FMJ bullet. With a plated vs a quality cast bullet or FMJ, at 10 yards I'm shooting a baseball or a golf ball size groups.
